What Is Astro Herbalism?
Astro Herbalism brings together two traditional systems of knowledge: astrology and herbalism.
Plants have long been associated with planets, zodiac signs, elements, qualities, and different functions of the body. Astro Herbalism studies these relationships while also considering the individual natal chart and the traditional properties of herbs.
Rather than simply matching one herb with one zodiac sign, my approach looks at the larger pattern.
How Does Astro Herbalism Work?
Astro Herbalism examines both the person and the plant.
A natal chart can reveal elemental and planetary patterns, while herbs have their own traditional actions, energetics, qualities, and planetary correspondences.
Bringing these systems together creates a more individualized way to explore herbal wellness.
Does My Sun Sign Determine Which Herbs I Should Use?
No.
Zodiac herbal correspondences can be a wonderful introduction to Astro Herbalism, but a person cannot be reduced to a Sun sign.
The entire natal chart provides context. Elemental patterns, planetary emphasis, aspects, constitution, personal history, medications, health considerations, and the properties of the individual plant all matter.
This is why a personalized Astro Herbal approach is very different from simply saying, “This is the herb for your zodiac sign.”
What Are Planetary Herbal Correspondences?
Traditional herbal and astrological systems associated different plants with planets according to characteristics such as appearance, habitat, energetics, traditional actions, and observed qualities.
For example, plants may traditionally be described as warming or cooling, moistening or drying, stimulating or calming.
Astro Herbalism considers these qualities alongside astrological symbolism.
Is Astro Herbalism the Same as Herbal Medicine?
Astro Herbalism can draw from traditional herbal knowledge, but my work is educational and holistic in nature.
Herbs can interact with medications, supplements, medical conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies, and other individual circumstances. Herbal recommendations should always be considered within the context of the person using them.
Astro Herbalism is not a replacement for appropriate medical care.

Medical Astrology helps establish the astrological and constitutional framework.
Astro Herbalism then explores how traditional plant correspondences and herbal energetics may relate to those patterns.
